Brendon Sawatzky departs NSI to pursue producing career

Brendon Sawatzky, Manager of Programs and Development at the National Screen Institute, has left the organization to pursue his producing career.

During his tenure at NSI, Brendon managed NSI Movie Camp, programmed the Industry Centre panels and master classes at NSI FilmExchange Canadian Film Festival, was program coordinator of NSI playWRITE and was program manager of NSI Features First.

Brendon’s company Inferno Pictures has produced or co-produced projects including the television projects House Party and CBC Short Shots and feature films Inertia, Who Loves the Sun, and Goon.

“In the short time that I’ve known Brendon, it’s clear the positive impact he has made on the programming and staff at NSI,” says John Gill, CEO of NSI. “We wish him all the best and look forward to supporting his future projects.”

Sawatzky was with NSI for 10 years and is currently working as a term producer with the National Film Board.
