A young girl prepares for her big fancy birthday party.
Writer/director: Alessandra Jennifer Ross
Producer: Concordia University
When I made this short film, I was in my first year at Concordia University in Montreal.
I was a new student, scared, and I didn’t have many friends. My creativity was not very developed. We had to do a short film for our final session for the first year and I had no idea what to do.
Then, one [night] I dreamed of a little girl’s party, but at that party this little girl was alone. I knew I had my idea.
Since I’m [from a] family of five children, I got my little sister (10 years old) to play the little girl. She was not that happy but we ended up having a blast!
This short film was really contradictory to my life because [we were a large family] we never had birthday parties where we were alone. It was fun creating this little world of loneliness.
