Joe Balass wins Power Pitch at Whistler with NSI Features First project Venus

Congratulations to Joe Balass, whose NSI Features First-developed project Venus (written by Eisha Marjara) won the Power Pitch at Whistler Film Festival.

Venus is a dramedy about a transitioning woman who discovers she is the father of 13-year-old boy.

As the winner, Joe receives a $1,000 cash prize sponsored by CMPA-BC, a $10,000 credit for Studio Space provided by Ironwood Studios of Vancouver and a $2,500 post-production credit provided by Finalé Post.

Power Pitch is an opportunity for Canadian producers to hone their skills to pitch projects to some of the world’s top sales agents for motion pictures.
