About Zachary Russell
Zack is a playwright, theatre director and producer. This is his first film.
Select directing credits include the critically acclaimed porno-comedy Ajax (por nobody) by Alice Tuan (SummerWorks, 2012) and the Governor General’s Award-winning live-stream play rihannaboi95 by Jordan Tannahill (2013) for which Zack received a Dora Award nomination.
His plays have premiered in New York (The Flea Theater), Montreal (Lab Synthese) and Toronto (VideoFag).
In 2013, Zack and Kayla met while collaborating on the punk-rock opera Feint of Hart.
Most recently, he produced the Toronto and New York run of Sheila Heti’s All Our Happy Days Are Stupid. He lives in Toronto.
