Tasha Hubbard and Trevor Anderson films at Gimme Some Truth 2016

Trevor Anderson and Tasha Hubbard

Congratulations to Trevor Anderson (NSI Drama Prize) and Tasha Hubbard (NSI Aboriginal Documentary, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program), both of whom have work featured at the upcoming Gimme Some Truth documentary festival in Winnipeg.

On November 6 there’s a case study of Tasha’s film Birth of a Family about four siblings who, after being separated at birth during the Sixties Scoop, come together as a family for the very first time.

Tasha will screen clips from the film, which is currently in post-production, and lead a discussion on her approach to telling this story and her close collaboration with the members of this reunited family. There will also be a Q&A after the discussion.

Gimme Some Truth is also featuring a retrospective of Trevor’s short films, including The Little Deputy, The High Level Bridge, The Island and more. They screen on November 4 with an introduction and Q&A by Trevor.
