New production assistant training program from POV aims to diversify production in Toronto

Presenting Our Vision

Presenting Our Vision, also known as POV 3rd Street, co-founded by Jeff Kopas (NSI Features First), has announced a new production assistant training program to help diversify production in Toronto. The first edition of the program supports black young adults ages 18 to 29.

The five-week training and job placement program provides an opportunity for the Toronto screen industry to become more inclusive and representative of Toronto’s racial and ethnic diversity.

The program is funded by the City of Toronto in partnership with United Way Greater Toronto and is operated by POV with the assistance of CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals and Directors Guild of Canada – Ontario.

POV was established in 2007 by members of the film, TV and commercial production industries who were interested in increasing access to employment in their field and broadening its diversity.
