Comedy series La Junta, based on NSI Totally Television project Parental Advisory, now airing

La Junta / Parental Advisory

La Junta, a sketch comedy TV and web series created and written by Jaime Escallon-Buraglia and Christopher Sweeney (both NSI Totally Television), is now available in Colombia. A curated selection of sketches is available online worldwide.

La Junta is about a dysfunctional school PTA, the lack-lustre staff and poor kids who have to deal with them. It’s currently airing in Colombia on the Canal Capital network, on its website and is available on Facebook.

Co-created and co-written by Jaime and Christopher, the two-season Spanish-language series is delivered in two formats: 12 episodes x 24 minutes (TV format – each episode has eight sketches); and 96 sketches x three minutes (digital platform format). Produced by Jaime’s production company, LuloFilms, the format is currently being adapted to other markets and in various languages.

La Junta is developed from Parental Advisory, (NSI Totally Television 2015), the short film Parental Advisory: Disciplinary Measures (BravoFact, 2014) and Parental Advisory: Swinging on a Star (pilot script, ScriptapaloozaTV, quarter finalist, 2013).

Christopher was inspired to write the original pilot script as a result of witnessing the ridiculous antics of the school parent council he sat on. Working with producer and director Jaime they developed the show in the NSI Totally Television program with the belief that these endless and evergreen stories applied not just locally but globally. This belief has been borne out by the international success of La Junta.

While the show is only being shown in its full form in Colombia, selected sketches are available on YouTube, Facebook and the broadcaster’s main website.

La Junta is available as a format to sell into other territories and languages – including Canada. For more information please contact: jaime@lulofilms.com and chris@lulofilms.com.
