The panels provide insight and insider perspectives for aspiring and current filmmakers from underrepresented communities, and those in the industry who aim to work with diverse representation both in front of and behind the camera. The panels will be hosted by creative producers Mayumi Yoshida (TELUS STORYHIVE), Nach Dudsdeemaytha, Joshua Lam, Arnold Lim (NSI Features First), Lynne Lee and director Regina Leung.
The first session began on April 14 with a discussion about Canada Media Fund (CMF) and access to funding programs for BIPOC filmmakers. Watch the panel on the VAFF Facebook page.
The second session runs from April 19 to 23 focusing on CMF’s Pilot Program for Racialized Communities. The third session will launch at the end of April.
