Congratulations to the alumni honoured at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Tribute Awards and Festival Awards on September 18.

The TIFF Tribute Awards streamed on CTV on September 18, followed by the announcement of the TIFF Festival Awards on social media.

The TIFF Tribute Awards honour the film industry’s outstanding contributors and their achievements. Congratulations to Danis Goulet (NSI Drama Prize) who received the TIFF Emerging Talent Award presented by L’Oréal Paris and supported by MGM.

The TIFF Festival Awards highlight jury-selected and audience-voted festival favourites.

Congratulations to Rhayne Vermette (NSI IndigiDocs) who received the Amplify Voices Award for Best Canadian Film for Ste. Anne. This award celebrates underrepresented filmmakers and embraces diverse storytelling. Winners receive a cash prize of $10K.

The IMDb Short Cuts Award for Best Canadian Film supports diversity, equity and inclusion in the entertainment industry and empowers filmmakers to discover new talent. Congratulations to producer Nadia Mike (NSI Art of Business Management – Indigenous Edition) whose film Angakusajaujuq – The Shaman’s Apprentice won this award along with $10K and a one-year membership to IMDbPro.
