FemToba Film Festival and Chats

Womxn’s Film & Video Network (WFVN) is now accepting submissions for the new FemToba Film Festival.

FemToba Film Festival features short films by womxn, non-binary and trans men filmmakers based in the Canadian prairies. It will take place May 27, 2022 on the Winnipeg Art Gallery rooftop, in addition to an online screening. Learn more about how to submit your film now.

To be eligible, films must:

  • Have a womxn, non-binary or trans man director or co-director
  • Director or co-director must be based in the Canadian prairies (Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Alberta)
  • Film must have been made in the Canadian prairies (Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Alberta)
  • Be under 20 minutes
  • Have English subtitles if in a non-English language
  • Been made in the last three years

WFVN is hosting FemToba Film Chats, featuring writer, director and producer JJ Neepin (NSI IndigiDocs). This free speaker series opens conversations for all womxn, non-binary and trans men Manitobans interested in film and video.

The event takes place on December 16 at 7p.m. CT at Winnipeg Film Group’s Black Lodge Studio. Register now to attend.
