About Kim Beggs
Kim Beggs is an emerging Yukon filmmaker with specialty in music video animation. She is a Western Canadian Music Award 2011 nominee for her film Longest Dream which had its world premiere at the Dawson City International Short Film Festival. Can’t Drive Slow Yodel will also premiere at the festival. Beggs has been featured at the Vancouver Women in Film Festival.
Her love of filmmaking grew from her goals to educate herself in the craft to make it easier to work with other filmmakers who make her music videos. She started taking courses here and there in 2005, in Whitehorse through the Yukon Film Society and in Dawson City through Klondike Institute of Arts and Culture. Like songwriting and singing, Kim enjoys filmmaking as a tool for telling stories.
