Quick stats about the movie

We all struggle with family from time to time. Michelle (10) and Patrick (30) are two strangers whose paths cross at a playground one snowy afternoon.

As their initial apprehension thaws while comparing sibling rivalries, we learn that some family secrets are far darker than others.

Filmmaker’s statement

It was a good day to be wearing as many hats as I was because it was cold as eff.

Writing, directing, producing and acting in this film is probably the most responsibility I’ve taken on in the production of any of my shorts and, I’ll admit, it was a little daunting at times.

Luckily, I had a crackerjack crew, and an amazing co-star as evidenced by the incredibly mature performance give by the young Tegan Macdonald.

The Woman in White explores the ideas of family, guilt and taking responsibility for one’s choices in life.

Produced in St. John’s, Newfoundland with a cast and crew made up entirely of volunteers, it’s a small film that I feel will speak volumes to anyone who has struggled with loss and regret: from the young and frustrated to the old and nostalgic.
