Staff have dug through the archives to bring you more of their short film favourites.

The NSI Online Short Film Festival archive includes over 1,000 curated short films and the NSI Films website has over 100 works created through NSI programs over the years – two little online gems bursting with Canadian short film goodness.

W-A-L-K | 11 mins | Comedy

W-A-L-K by Anna Sikorski, follows preteen Clara as she embarks on a mission to master the art of walking in high-heeled shoes. Clara’s ambitions for feminine glory are complicated by the fact that it’s also her turn to take Eddie, the poorly-trained family dog, on his daily w-a-l-k. Originally programmed in the NSI Online Short Film Festival in 2017.

The Auburn Hills Breakdown | 17 mins | Horror/Comedy

The Auburn Hills Breakdown was made through NSI Drama Prize in 2008 by writer/director Geoff Redknap and producer Katie Weekley. In the film, Junior, the fiercely loyal son of a backwoods cannibal family, struggles in terror against the creepy hospitality of a superficial yuppie couple.

Job Interview | 7 mins | Comedy

Programmed in the NSI Online Short Film Festival in 2015 and winner of the festival’s Bite Comedy Award.

Job Interview, by directors Tim Moore and Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, shows us how a regular job interview can turn into a reminder of an applicant’s dark past.
