History

NSI Global Marketing was a four-month intensive training and mentorship program for mid-level Canadian television producers.

The training prepared producers to take their projects to the international marketplace. A range of advanced professional and project development opportunities were provided as key components of the program.

During the first phase each producer worked individually with the program manager to establish program goals including shaping their projects, researching and targeting specific international broadcasters, distributors and/or partners and exploring appropriate buyers.

Phase two was a four-day training session in Toronto. Producers networked with other participants, took part in practice pitch sessions, simulated co-production case studies and discussed international distribution. They received more one-on-one coaching from the program manager for market preparation, meetings and last minute materials.

The final phase of the program included attendance at MIPCOM or MIPTV in Cannes, France. At the market, participants received daily one-on-one coaching. There was also post-market follow-up.
