Founded in 1986, the National Screen Institute is Canada’s most established national training organization for storytellers, supporting writers, directors, producers and digital creators through industry-informed mentorship, immersive workshops and business labs.

Based in Winnipeg, the institute has delivered market-driven training to more than 2,100 creators, contributing to over 1,900 projects.
About the role
The partnerships coordinator supports the organization’s relationships with funders, sponsors and industry partners by coordinating reporting, tracking commitments and supporting funding proposals and reports.
They gather, organize and verify information while ensuring partnership commitments and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
The partnerships coordinator thinks ahead, identifies potential gaps and helps build efficient systems that support the organization’s work. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively across departments.
Training and support to learn National Screen Institute systems, processes and reporting requirements will be provided.
This position is well suited to a highly organized individual who enjoys creating order, solving problems and working with information, reporting and deadlines.
Key responsibilities
Funding and reporting
- Support the administration of funding agreements and reporting requirements by maintaining tracking systems, monitoring deadlines and deliverables, and ensuring commitments to funders, sponsors and partners are met
- Gather, compile and verify information for funding proposals, reports and evaluations
- Coordinate the internal review and approval process for funding proposals and reports
- Coordinate surveys, evaluations and other activities that support funder and partner reporting requirements
Information management and partner recognition
- Collaborate with the communications coordinator to track alumni achievements, project outcomes and other organizational impact data
- Coordinate the collection and verification of production credits, publicity materials and partner acknowledgements for projects supported through National Screen Institute programs
- Maintain records and help ensure the National Screen Institute and its partners receive appropriate recognition in accordance with funding and partnership agreements
Organizational support and systems
- Work closely with the director of partner support, executive director, director of operations, controller, communications coordinator and program managers
- Support the development and continuous improvement of partnership systems, workflows and reporting practices
- Provide additional project coordination and administrative support as required
Qualifications and experience
Required
- Experience in administration, project coordination, reporting, grant administration or a related field, typically gained through at least two years of relevant work experience
- Experience gathering, organizing and maintaining information with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong proficiency using Excel spreadsheets, databases and other tools to track information, manage records and support reporting
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and contribute to reports, proposals, evaluations or similar documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in the arts, cultural, charitable or non-profit sector
- Experience supporting funding applications, reporting processes, sponsorships or partnership initiatives
- Familiarity with Indigenous communities, equity-deserving communities and inclusive workplace practices
- Experience improving administrative systems, workflows or organizational processes
Education
- Post-secondary education in business administration, communications, project management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Work arrangement and hours
This is a full-time position based in Winnipeg. The National Screen Institute operates on a four-day work week, Monday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Staff work in a hybrid environment with in-office days agreed upon in advance.
