We believe storytellers create a culturally equitable world and work with a national network of partners to provide creators with the skills and tools to thrive, innovate and succeed.

By prioritizing storytellers from Indigenous and equity-deserving communities, including Black creators, People of Colour, women, 2SLGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities and creators in regional and remote areas, we help strengthen the creative economy and build a more inclusive, sustainable screen industry.

Based in Winnipeg, the institute has delivered market-driven training to more than 2,100 creators, contributing to over 1,900 projects.
