Director’s statement

Theodore Bezaire says:

“Losing a pet for the first time is a fairly universal coming-of-age experience. My first pet, Newton, a hamster, died during the summer between grades five and six. I was devastated but dealing with the loss was an essential part of growing up. Tommy is a look back at the common, yet delicate, moment in youth when we are faced with heartbreak and loss.”
