Calgary International Film Festival announces full lineup featuring over 20 alumni films

Calgary International Film Festival

Congratulations to the alumni whose films screen at the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF)!

The festival runs from September 23 to October 3, featuring over 175 short and feature films from around the globe. This year, the festival will be a combination of in-person and online screenings.

Feature films

  • Jonesin’ – directed and executive produced by Scott Westby (NSI Features First), executive produced by Robert Cuffley (NSI Features First, NSI Drama Prize) and Matt Watterworth (NSI Features First)
  • Motherly – written and directed by Craig David Wallace (NSI Totally Television)
  • Night Raiders – written and directed by Danis Goulet (NSI Drama Prize), executive produced by Lisa Meeches (NSI Indigenous training programs advisor and NSI Storytellers alumna) and Kyle Irving (NSI Global Marketing), associate produced by Eva Thomas (NSI Totally Television) and starring Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers
  • One of Ours – produced by Laura Perlmutter (NSI Drama Prize)
  • Stanleyville – executive produced by Daniel Bekerman (NSI Features First)
  • Tribal, Season 2 – produced by Scott Lepp (NSI Features First) and co-written by Jason Filiatrault (NSI Script to Screen)
  • Wildhood – produced by Gharrett Patrick Paon (NSI Features First)

Short films

  • Beyond Curls & Kinks – developed through TELUS STORYHIVE by co-director, producer and writer Osas Eweka-Smith and co-director Kelsey Van Moorsel
  • Body Politics – produced by Lisa Jackson (Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program and associate faculty) and Lauren Grant (NSI Art of Business Management – Indigenous Edition program advisor)
  • How to Make a Friend – directed by Morgan Ermter, written and produced by Megan Stephan (both TELUS STORYHIVE)
  • Into Light – directed by Sheona McDonald (NSI Global Marketing)
  • Mean Hakeem – produced by Vince Raquel (TELUS STORYHIVE)
  • Sled – produced by Derrick Johnson (TELUS STORYHIVE)
