Writer/director Cavan Campbell (NSI Drama Prize) had locked picture and sound on his new film Receiver precisely when COVID-19 hit in March.

“We got our submissions in to about 25 festivals before the lock down descended on Toronto. We’re in a bit of a holding pattern at the moment because a huge number of festivals are still deciding if they’re even going to run.”

In any other year, we’d be telling you about the festivals screening Receiver, but this is 2020.

While Cavan waits to hear more, he’s continuing the film’s promotional rollout and would love to share the trailer with the NSI community.

In the film an isolated telephone counsellor is confronted by an insidious caller with the power to control her mind.
