Congratulations to Cavan Campbell (NSI Drama Prize), whose film Receiver premieres at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. The virtual festival runs from November 12 to 19.
Receiver follows Sriyani, an overtaxed social care worker and the harm she and other racialized women face as caregivers. During a night shift, Sriyani is confronted by an insidious caller with the power to control her mind.
The film will be available online during the run of the festival. Cavan, along with other directors, will participate in a live Q&A session on November 15.
