Privacy and use of personal information

The National Screen Institute collects personal information through this application form for the purpose of:

assessing eligibility for CBC New Indigenous Voices (the “Program”)
evaluating and selecting participants
administering the Program if you are selected
communicating with applicants
meeting reporting, audit and funding obligations

Your application may be reviewed by National Screen Institute staff, external selection committee members and faculty members involved in Program delivery. All reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and use the information solely for Program-related purposes.

We may use application data in aggregated or anonymized form for reporting to funders, partners and for internal evaluation and planning.

Some questions, including demographic questions, are voluntary. Information related to Indigenous identity is used to assess eligibility where applicable and to support reporting commitments. You may decline to answer voluntary questions.

Applicants sometimes choose to share personal experiences in their submissions. While we do not require disclosure of traumatic or highly sensitive information, any personal information you choose to include will be treated confidentially and reviewed only for Program assessment purposes.

Personal information will not be used for unrelated purposes without your consent unless required or permitted by law.
