Congratulations to JJ Neepin (NSI IndigiDocs), Eva Thomas (NSI Totally Television), Roxann Whitebean (NSI IndigiDocs), Marylou Mintram and Lindsay McIntyre on being selected for Women in View’s Five in Focus: Indigenous edition.

Five in Focus: Indigenous is a 10-week mentorship program for Indigenous women-identifying and nonbinary filmmakers in Canada. Through industry activities, masterclasses, pitch training and project packaging, each participant will receive customized training for their specific needs.

Participants will work with mentors Tracey Deer (NSI Storytellers, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program), Danis Goulet (NSI Drama Prize) Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers (NSI IndigiDocs program manager and director advisor), Alethea Arnaquq-Baril and Tina Keeper to develop their feature film or television series.

Projects will be funded by the Indigenous Screen Office, Telefilm Canada, Canada Media Fund, Directors Guild of Canada and TELUS.
