History

NSI playWRITE, presented by the National Screen Institute Canada (NSI) and Telefilm Canada in association with Zeros 2 Heroes, was designed to train 10 emerging writers to develop essential skills as narrative designers in the video game industry.

The goal was to provide writers with the training required to afford them the skills and technical knowledge to work within the game development industry, with a secondary goal of a post-graduate internship with the participating game developers and a long-term goal of ongoing careers in the industry.

Industry partners included Bioware Corp, EA Blackbox, Radical, Action Pants, Fit Brains, Big Sandwich Games, Next Level Games, Propaganda, IGDA, Vidfest, New Media BC and CBC.
