STORYHIVE Pan-Asian Storyteller Edition now open for applications

New and emerging Asian filmmakers in British Columbia and Alberta are invited to apply for the STORYHIVE Pan-Asian Storyteller Edition, an exciting opportunity offering $20,000 in production funding to bring their stories to life.

This edition supports the creation of 20- to 45-minute locally reflective documentaries, scripted films or series pilots. In addition to funding, each selected project will receive National Screen Institute-facilitated mentorship from industry experts and will be distributed on TELUS Optik TV and the STORYHIVE YouTube channel.

Celebrating Pan-Asian voices

The Pan-Asian Storyteller Edition celebrates the breadth and depth of narratives from Pan-Asian creatives in Canada, aiming to showcase the unique and diverse experiences of Asian communities. The program is open to new and emerging filmmakers in British Columbia and Alberta who are of Asian descent from any region of continental Asia.

Whether you’re telling stories rooted in heritage, identity, community or personal experience, TELUS STORYHIVE is looking to amplify voices that reflect the richness of Pan-Asian perspectives.

Applications are open until May 8, 2025.
