The Winnipeg Film Group (WFG) and IATSE Local 856 have launched the BIPOC Artist’s Film Fund to support emerging Manitoba creators.
To be eligible, applicants must be emerging BIPOC filmmakers with little previous film or video work. Applicants must submit a letter of intent, describing a proposed film / video concept and how this project will contribute to their artistic aspirations.
The selected recipient will be awarded with:
- $10K in cash
- $2K in WFG services (can be applied to gear, editing suite and studio rentals)
- General WFG membership and production add-on (valued at $127)
- Free access to two WFG workshops anytime up to one year after being awarded
- Free access to two IATSE 856 workshops anytime up to one year after being awarded
- Access to all of the networking and industry connection opportunities afforded by WFG, IATSE Local 856
- A screening of their funded film at Cinematheque and online through Cinematheque at Home
