Filmmaker’s statement

When I started writing Bombing, I set out to make a film that challenged the idea of what it meant to be a mother. I wanted to show the moments of vulnerability that came with being a deadbeat mom. Exploring this through a mix of comedy and drama appealed to me and, luckily, I was able to rely on the amazing instincts of Lauren McGibbon, who plays Sophie, and the remarkable precocity of Penelope Good, who plays Quinn.

I am so proud of the work that went into this film. It taught me a lot about directing and the films that I want to make. I have my remarkable cast and crew to thank for making it such a worthwhile experience. I hope you enjoy it!
