Fish is a documentary/fiction hybrid film that was shot over a four-year period.
It was made with no money and no crew and features the director’s cousin in the lead role.
About Heather Young
Heather Young is a filmmaker from New Brunswick now living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Her 2016 film Fish played at festivals all over the world including Palm Springs Shortfest and Vienna Independent Shorts.
It also received an honourable mention for best Canadian short at the Vancouver International Film Festival, best short film at the Screen Nova Scotia Awards and was included in TIFF’s Top Ten Film Festival.
Her new short Milk recently had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and won best short film in the Focus Québec/Canada competition at Montreal Festival du nouveau cinema.
