Filmmaker’s statement

Ink came about by chance when I noticed my friend, Tanja Tiziana, posting stunning calligraphy work to her Instagram feed, and sent her a note saying “Hey, I’d like to film this.”

What I didn’t know was that she’d only just begun practicing in earnest less than a month before! It took a little while to convince her that her story was worth telling, but we’re both glad she relented – two weeks after its release, Ink had been watched more than 45,000 times and was featured on Gizmodo, The Verge, Design Taxi, The Globe & Mail, Digg, and CBC Toronto’s Metro Morning.
