Filmmaker’s statement
Though I’ve worked as a filmmaker for many years now, Islands was my first time directing a dramatic film. The experience was rewarding in ways I hadn’t experienced within documentary or experimental genres.
I tend towards working alone on many of my projects whereas, with Islands, the team-building and shared creative journey was deeply rewarding and certainly edifying.
Working with writer/star Jill Mary-Elizabeth McRae and producer Jason Arsenault was an experience I’d like to repeat.
