Meet Horace Cloverdale. Today is his birthday.
He’s the least lucky man on the planet but that doesn’t stop him from trying. Maybe today he’ll find what we’re all looking for: a lucky break and true love.

“I once found a $100 bill on the ground. I immediately thought, ‘wow, am I lucky.’
Later I considered that someone lost that money, so they are walking around thinking how unlucky they are. When a person’s house explodes because they left the propane on but they somehow survive the blast, people will say, ‘that bloke was lucky.’
I was pondering the idea of luck and fate and considered that there has to be a luckiest person on the planet and conversely, an unluckiest.
John Davies (Hobo with a Shotgun) and I sat down and wrote a script to explore this idea. We loved the idea of a guy who’s so unlucky yet it never holds him back. He goes for it every time and somehow his luck helps him survive.”
